Macmillan Money and More South West (North)

Each year in Bristol, more than 1,100 people are diagnosed with cancer. Nearly all cancer patients suffer some loss of income or increased expenditure as a result of their diagnosis which can make this difficult time even more stressful.

Macmillan Cancer Support and Bristol Citizens Advice partners across the North of the South West Region are working together to deliver a dedicated welfare benefits advice service aimed at supporting people affected by cancer. Our partnership consists of 9 delivery partners including Banes, Bristol, Gloucester, North Somerset, Oxfordshire Somerset, Swindon, Reading & Wiltshire and we work together across the region to respond to any referrals we receive. This service is for people who have a current cancer diagnosis but referrals can be made by that person, a family member or friend by clicking the button below. Or ask your Macmillan nurse or specialist nurse to refer you to our service, and we will contact you directly.

Our specialist caseworkers can help clients with assessing benefit entitlement, filling in forms, appealing against benefit award decisions as well as sourcing and applying for any charitable grants which you may be entitled to.

The service is usually delivered by phone. In person appointments are available when necessary, at several locations across the city including Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, The Macmillan Wellbeing Centre at Southmead Hospital and Citizens Advice Bristol.
