Welcome to Bristol Citizens Advice Bureau

Bristol Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent charity that provides free, impartial advice and information on a range of issues. We can help with most everyday problems from employment to housing and debt.

Before using our service we would encourage you to visit our national website www.adviceguide.org.uk where you will find information about all the main areas of advice including: Benefits, Debt, Housing, Employment, Consumer, Family, etc.

If you still need information or advice you can attend a ‘drop-in’ at our Bristol Advice Point.  A gateway assessment is a short interview that explores your enquiry and assesses what your advice needs are. The assessment many conclude that you require specialist advice, another agency is better suited to help you, or you need assisted self help. You can have a gateway assessment through:

-         Our drop-in service at Bristol Advice Point
-         Our Telephone Service 0844 4994718 -  Only available on Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00 due to a temporary shortage of volunteers.
-         Our family law email advice service which will be answered by our partners The College of Law
-     As an alternative to using the drop-in service you can write to us with your enquiry at Bristol Citizens Advice Bureau, 12 Broad Street, Bristol, BS1 2HL. Please include a daytime telephone number and/or an email address if you have one. Please ensure that your letter contains as much information as possible.
