About
Each year in Bristol, more than 1,100 people are diagnosed with cancer. Nearly all cancer patients suffer some loss of income or increased expenditure as a result of their diagnosis which can make this difficult time even more stressful.
Macmillan Cancer Support and Bristol Citizens Advice are working together to deliver a dedicated welfare benefits advice service aimed at supporting people affected by cancer. Our specialist caseworkers can help clients with assessing benefit entitlement, filling in forms, appealing against benefit award decisions as well as sourcing and applying for any charitable grants which you may be entitled to.
The service is usually delivered by phone. In person appointments are available when necessary, at several locations across the city including Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, The Macmillan Wellbeing Centre at Southmead Hospital and Citizens Advice Bristol.
