Macmillan Cancer Support and Bristol CAB are working in partnership to deliver welfare benefits advice specifically for people affected by cancer. This is the first dedicated welfare benefits advice service available to the 1,100 people who are diagnosed with cancer each year in Bristol.

Nearly all cancer patients suffer some loss of income or increased expenditure as a result of their diagnosis which can make this difficult time even more stressful.

The service extends to family and carers of people affected by cancer and can help clients with benefit entitlement, filling in forms, appealing benefit award decisions and charitable grants. The service is available in seven outreach locations across the city including Frenchay Hospital, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and Southmead Hospital.
