| Campaigns: Information on our campaigns |
Bristol
Citizens Advice Bureau helps people resolve their problems in two ways
·
through
advice work with individuals
·
by
using the experiences of our clients to show policy makers where the policies
or services they provide fall short and cause problems for people. The aim of our campaigning work is to
persuade the policy makers to make improvements to those policies and services.
We campaign locally and
nationally:
- we hold regular liaison meetings with the
Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), eg reporting your experiences with
the new JobCentre Plus offices
- we work with other bureaux in the former Avon
area eg a recent mystery shopper
exercise looked at how store cards are promoted by shops in Weston-super-Mare
and Bristol.
- we are working with Age Concern in monitoring
age discrimination in employment
- we submit regular reports of client evidence to
our national organisations, Citizens Advice.
- we participate in national monitoring exercises
eg. during September we moitored arrears of mortgages and secured loans
For more information about
how evidence is used nationally go to the Adviceguide website.
If you feel that your
problems are a result of bad or unfair laws, policies or practices or poor
services, let us know. You can use the
Feedback page. We will use your evidence (anonymously) to
campaign for change. Your experiences
may help improve things, not just for you, but for many other people who might
be having the same problems. |
